Do you hold a degree in English literature? Do you enjoy helping young minds grow?
If so, we’d love to hire you as a tutor.
You will teach classic literature, vocabulary, traditional English grammar, and writing. Most sessions are one hour long, held in our Sunnyvale office or online. Our primary clientele are native English-speaking students in grades 6 to 12. The main prerequisites for the job are an English degree, professional teaching or tutoring experience, and a desire to develop your skills further.
The company culture is centered on love of English. We joke about grammar, make allusions to the classics, and constantly look for feedback on how to engage kids with the subject that we love.
You will work as an employee, not a contractor. We offer some of the highest wages in the industry, retirement matching, health insurance, and paid time off. You will receive a bonus wage if you have a PhD.
Requirements:
- BA, MA, or PhD in English literature (advanced degrees in a comparable field, like history or philosophy, are also acceptable)
- At least two years of professional teaching or tutoring experience
